Why couples choose the Hunter Valley, and how I photograph it.
The Hunter Valley gives you a lot to work with: rows of vines, open paddocks, the Brokenback Range glowing at the end of the day, and venues that range from sandstone chapels to rustic barns. I've photographed weddings right across the region, many of them in Pokolbin, Broke and Lovedale, so I know where the light falls at each venue and how long a walk to the vines really takes.
I work in a documentary way. I'm there for the real moments, with a little gentle direction when it helps, never rigid posing. On the day I keep the timeline relaxed and plan portraits around the softest light, usually the last hour before sunset.
Seasons in brief: autumn and spring bring the most comfortable temperatures and long golden evenings; summer means early starts and late sunsets; winter gives crisp, clear light and cosy fireside receptions.

My style is candid, natural and documentary-led, with warm, true-to-life colour. I watch the day as it unfolds, give gentle direction when it helps and avoid stiff posing or manufactured moments.
What if we feel awkward or dislike posing for photographs?
That's completely normal, and it's exactly why I keep things relaxed. I'll give you simple prompts that create natural movement and connection rather than rigid poses. Most couples quickly forget they're being photographed.
Where do you photograph weddings?
I photograph weddings throughout the Hunter Valley, Pokolbin, Lovedale, Broke, Wollombi, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and the Central Coast, and I'm happy to travel for celebrations elsewhere.
